The case of the murder of journalist Vyacheslav Veremia

Vyacheslav Vasilevich Veremiy is a Ukrainian journalist who died on EuroMaidan on February 19, 2014. Hero of Ukraine (2014), from the beginning of 2013 he worked in the newspaper "Today". During the EuroMeidan, Vyacheslav Veremiy from the first day covered events in Kiev for his publication. A number of his materials reflected the editorial policy of the newspaper Vesti, which spoke out against Euromaydan.

He was killed on the night of February 19, when he was traveling with his colleague for a taxi home after work. At the corner of Vladimir and the Great Zhitomir he noticed armed men in camouflage and masks and tried to photograph them from the car. They immediately attacked the car, began to destroy it, pulled the driver and passengers. The driver and colleague Veremia managed to escape after the beating, while Veremia screamed "Who was shooting? Why did you shoot? "He was badly beaten, then shot in the back. At the same time, the militiamen present on the spot remained aloof and did not interfere in the events.

Veremiy was taken to the intensive care hospital, but due to loss of blood and injuries incompatible with life, he died at about six o'clock in the morning on February 19, 2014 during the operation.

On February 24, 2014, Piotr Poroshenko, on Channel Five, stated that the murderer Veremy was detained, which he soon denied. Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov.

April 3, 2014 the results of the investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine were announced, according to which the murderers of Veremia were "titles" from Donbass, hired by the authorities for crimes against the supporters of Euromaidan. He was arrested (later released under house arrest, and then under a written undertaking not to leave the place) by the beating Veremiya previously convicted Yuri Krysin nicknamed "Shrek", and in the organization of this criminal group accused the former head of the media holding "Contact" Viktor Zubritsky. According to volunteer Vladimir Ruban, the direct killer of Veremiah, 55 years old Jalal Aliyev, nicknamed "Dima Dagestanets," was killed in Gorlovka in the territory controlled by the People's Democratic Republic on July 7, 2015. \

The trial of Yuri Ratin

On December 23, 2012, the judges of the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kiev after three years of trial released the man involved in the murder of Vyacheslav Veremiy, Yuri Krysin, who had previously committed criminal offenses. The judges sentenced the head of the group of "titles" Yury Krysin to 4 years of imprisonment conditionally. In court, Krysin pleaded guilty to hooliganism and infliction of bodily injuries, but did not admit that Veremia killed intentionally. The court decided that the actions of Krysin fall under Part 4 of Art. 296 of the criminal code (hooliganism), but mitigating circumstances were learned: repentance and the presence of 2 young children.
