"Uspishna Varta" asked the police to investigate the statement of Korchinsky about the division of Ukrainian citizens into "classes"

The human rights activists of “Uspishna Varta” filed a statement with the police concerning a criminal offense committed by the leader of the right-wing radical group “Bratstvo”, Dmitry Korchinsky, who in an interview with a media agency called the residents of the occupied territories of Donbass “traitors”, “collaborators”, and “second class”.

On March 11 in Kiev the leader of the “Bratstvo” Party, Dmitry Korchinsky, gave an interview to the “Magnoliya-TV” channel, which was then published on the YouTube channel under the name “Korchinsky: Ukraine will return Donbass by war! Lugansk and Donetsk will be destroyed".

During the interview, the leader of the “Bratstvo” organization publicly, through the media, said that the citizens of Ukraine who are residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are “traitors”, “second class citizen”, and “collaborators”.

“Those people who are on the occupied territories and do not carry out an underground war, or those people who did not leave from there to free Ukraine, are traitors on formal grounds,” said Korchinsky.

In addition, he said: “Here is how, being citizens, they pay taxes to separatists or to Moscow agents. They in this or that way collaborate with them. I.e., according to formal signs, they are collaborators. There should be no pity for collaborators".

Also, when the presenter asked what to do with people who cannot leave the occupied territories for objective reasons, in particular, due to age, illness or lack of relatives in the territories controlled by Ukraine, Korchinskiy said that citizens should do something otherwise they are not citizens, but "second class" subjects.

According to the lawyers of “Uspishna Varta”, the aforementioned statements made by Dmitry Korchinsky neglect the principle of the equality of human and citizen enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine, thereby intensifying the escalation of conflict between various members of society.

According to human rights activists, he actually committed deliberate actions aimed at inciting national hatred and hostility.

Pursuant to articles 214 and 60 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the human rights activists of “Uspishna Varta” appealed to the police with a request to enter information about a criminal offense committed by Dmitry Korchinsky into the Unified Register of pre-trial Investigations under Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and to transfer materials for conducting a pre-trial investigation.

Recall that following the results of the monitoring of compliance with political and civil rights for 2018 prepared by the human rights activists of “Uspishna Varta”, in 32% of recorded cases rights were violated as a result of the activities of right-wing radical groups such as “C14”, “National Corpus”, and “Bratstvo”.
