Human rights activists demand that the police investigate the attack on the "Uspishna Varta" Ukrainian presidential election observer

On May 15th nationalists attacked the Ukrainian presidential election observer from the "Uspishna Varta" human rights platform Spartak Golovachev near the Frunzensky court of the city of Kharkov.

The conflict took place in front of the courthouse. Representatives of the nationalist organisation “Freikorps” undertook responsibility for the organisation and carrying out of the attack. During the attack they accused Golovachev of implementing active work during the 2019 presidential election.

As a reminder, during the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election information about distribution of propaganda materials containing elements of "black PR" against the Ukrainian presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky was published on the Internet. On April 22 Spartak Golovachev made a monitoring visit to the point of delivery of these propaganda materials – the volunteer interaction center “Ukrop-hall”, which was created in June 2015 at the initiative of the “Kharkov Euromaidan”, “Sisters of the ATO” charity foundation, the public organisation "Civil Self-defense", and other organisations.

The attackers sprayed pepper spray at the eyes of Spartak Golovachev and doused him with zelenka. In this regard, the hearing of the case of Spartak Golovachev that he had come to attend was postponed, and he went to hospital in order to receive emergency aid.

The doctors stated that he had suffered a chemical burn in both eyes of the first and second degree and appointed treatment for him.
